Traditional Oktoberfest Food Gets a Flavorful Makeover with Festbier Steak Tacos, German Kobe Burger and much, much more!

CHATTANOOGA, TENN. (September 7, 2010) – Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant is welcoming the changing of the seasons by introducing their Festbier lager and complementing seasonal menu.  The new menu, inspired by Germany’s famous Oktoberfest Festival, includes delicious items with German flair that invoke the tastes of autumn.  Gordon Biersch is also giving away prizes such as appetizers and entrees throughout the promotion, including a week long getaway for two to the 2011 Oktoberfest Festival in Munich, Germany.

Beginning September 14th, guests at Gordon Biersch can enjoy the new limited-time-only menu, featuring two starters, seven entrees, and one desert, all made-from-scratch.  German food fans will be sure to love the Festbier Combo, made up of grilled bratwurst, knackwurst and Hungarian sausages, freshly made-in-house pretzel sticks and Gordon Biersch garlic fries, accompanied by their signature beer mustards.

Executive Chef Bill Heckler gave traditional Oktoberfest fare a Gordon Biersch twist with the addition of the Festbier Steak Tacos.  They are comprised of Flat Iron steak marinated in Festbier, grilled to perfection and served with lettuce, a tomato and onion mix and sour cream in a crisp blue corn tortilla, wrapped with a soft flour tortilla with pepper jack cheese.  “This year, we had fun taking some popular products and giving them a German twist,” said Heckler.  “The dishes included in this menu offer traditional favorites from the Oktoberfest Festival while incorporating the creative approach to bold international flavors Gordon Biersch is known for.”

Other menu items include:

  • Housemade Pretzels
  • Traditional German Sausage Platter
  • Drunken New York Strip
  • German Kobe Burger
  • Bavarian Chicken
  • Jaegerschnitzel
  • Pretzel Crusted Norwegian Salmon
  • Apple Cinnamon Cobbler
