Position Opening: Production Supervisor

Overview: Gordon Biersch Brewing Company is seeking a full time Production Supervisor for their high speed bottling and kegging facility in San Jose, California.  The position requires previous knowledge of bottling, kegging or other manufacturing lines.  The candidate must be a hard working individual who can multi-task and make decisions on the fly.  Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in a technical field from a four year college or university, plus 2 -4 years experience; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience preferred.  Computer skill level requirements include:  Basic to intermediate MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and basic MS Access.

Job Responsibilities Include:

• Supervise 6-10 employees.
• Manage & fulfill daily production requirements while ensuring the lines continue to run at a high efficiency.
• Perform daily analytical lab tests to ensure proper production.
• Verify & Report daily production.
• Ensure all direct reports receive proper breaks/lunches.
• Perform chemical titrations as needed.
• Oversee and be able to perform all sterilizations and CIPs of all bottling and kegging lines.
• Perform weekly inventory to ensure production requirements can be fulfilled.
• Manage inbound & outbound trucks, making sure they are unloaded/loaded in a timely manner.  Report any shipping variations to the Shipping & Receiving Coordinator. 
• Responsible for training and development of subordinate staff.
• Ensure adequate staffing to meet daily production needs.
• Strive for continuous improvement in all brewery processes and review findings with your immediate supervisor for possible implementations.
• Ensure safe work practices and work conditions at all times.
